NEW BUILD FIT OUT 2017-05-31T11:34:17+00:00

Narrowboat fit out Services

Here at Chiselpig we have been working on narrowboats for almost 3 decades. Our large workshop in Devizes can hold 2 narrowboats at a time, allowing us to work with other trades such as 12v boat electricians, boat painters, plumbers and fabricators.  We enjoy a challenge so welcome bespoke and original ideas from our clients. Our depth of knowledge and experience working on a widecompleted skylight with vine growing range of craft from narrow boats through to gentlemans launches, widebeams and dutch barges, means we have often encountered and overcome issues which our customers thought were an impossibility.

In addition to complete new builds we also do part or full refurbishment, this (depending on the scale of the refurbishment) can be completed while your boat is still in the water.  Being Devizes based we can machine the timber in our workshop and fit it where your boat lies. Typically along the wooden cratch board with folding windowKennet and Avon Canal which runs right through Devizes or along the River Thames from Oxford and Reading right down to London. This also applies to relatively minor work, such as building new staircases, cratches, windows, doors, skylights, hatches and boat furniture.

Over the years we have designed and built some impressive galleys and bathrooms in addition to general living spaces and bedrooms, examples can be seen in our picture gallery. boat staircase with built in storage

If you already have ideas or a specific theme, that’s great we like a challenge. If not wwe can offer addvice on what will suit your particular craft andd the space you have available. Whatever you decide on, you can be sure that Chiselpig will finish the job to an incredibly high standard, incorrporating those subtle details which will give it the wow factor.

We are happy working with a wide range of timber including Oak, Ash, Iroko, British Columbian Pine and Utile which are all very popular at the moment.
